On July 22, 2025, The Pokémon Company released a Pokémon Presents and divulged some of their upcoming games and shows. As usual, they discussed updates for Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon Café Remix, Pokémon TCG, and Pokémon Unite.
There was a lot to be excited over, but here I’ll discuss what I’m looking forward to and my thoughts on some of their announcements.
Pokemon World Championship

This year, the Championship will take place in Anaheim, California, from August 15 to 17. The biggest draw to this year’s event is that it will be hosted in a stadium. It’s kind of surreal. I won’t be attending, but I can’t wait to watch the livestreams and videos from the people who do..
Shows
Pokemon Concierge
Ultimately, I’ve decided I have to go watch the first season of Pokémon Concierge because this second season is looking like it’s got a little drama and an actual storyline to it. It was giving season one Pokémon vibes, a little bit funny, a little bit of drama, and a whole lot of wholesome moments that make you a little teary-eyed. You can check out the trailer for yourself.
Pokemon Tales: The misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu’
The company announced they are partnering with Aardman to create a new stop motion show called Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu’. The series is to be released sometime in 2027. I thought it was cute, but I’m a bit biased. I’m extremely fond of Pichu, and the Wooloo was so freaking adorable.
Games
Pokemon Friends
Pokémon Friends is a new puzzle game. Which at first I was excited for because you could play it on Android, IOS, and Nintendo Switch devices. It looks really fun, but you do have to pay for DLC-like content.
Basically, the game is free to download, and there are some levels that are free. After that, you have to pay to unlock more levels. I’m not sure how many more levels you get or how much you’ll have to pay to gain access to all the levels. I’m not a fan of paying to play. I’d rather pay an upfront price to gain access to the whole game.
Pokemon Champions
Admittedly, I’m a bit confused about how to play this game, and I watched the trailer twice. Simply explained, it’s a game that focuses on battling, which seems really fun, but… If you know anything about competitive Pokémon battling, you know it’s a complex system of stats and abilities. I found the complete breakdown of what’s to be included on the Pokémon website.
- Trainers can recruit Pokemon temporarily or permanently.
- To recruit a Pokemon Permanently you have to use VP (victory points) which can be earned by competing in ranked battles.
- Trainers can use the Pokemon in their Pokemon Home.
- Trainers can easily alter stats and abilities.
- There are three types of battle modes Ranked, Casual, and Private.
Pokemon Stadium is slated to be released in 2026.
Pokemon Legends Z-A
I’m sure, as most of you know, this was the biggest draw to watch the showcase. There is a lot to unpack, and I have a lot of thoughts. I plan to do a deep dive in a separate post, but here’s a quick breakdown of some of the things shown in the trailer.
What we already knew
- Takes place in Lumiose City.
- During the day you can find Pokemon throughout the city and in wild areas.
- At night you participate in the Z-A royale.
- Mega evolutions
What’s new
- There are these sort of boss battles as you climb the ranks in the Z-A royale.
- Your character is apart of a group called Team MZ that is trying to keep the city safe.
- Wild Pokemon are Mega evolving which is a big issue.
- Mega Dragonite
Pokemon Z-A is slated to be released October 16 on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Overall I was presently surprised by how much I enjoyed this Pokemon Presents and how excited I am for some of their new projects.
Until next time,
Wynnie
